If the HPIs are so weak they need that ridiculous rollcage i'm extra happy i went with a FG truck :)
Good way for the manufacturers to make money though i guess.

did you watch the video ? This cage you cant break and its very light

Well that makes the rollcage pretty stupid then wont it ? :)

This cage does protect the internals of the car very well. The true benefit of the cage is that it helps make the body last longer since there is a structure supporting the truck body so it does not bend and break like they do without the TC cage.

I get what the rollcage is supposed to do. And it probably does it really well. Though i had no brake issue with my FG MT truck body, is the HPI body thinner or what?
I just think it looks a bit excessive, then again there is a load of bs bling stuff available to the large scale cars, hard to tell actual useful upgrades from the tons of crap available. :P

The 5T bodies are okay, but they stick out quite a bit from the frame of the car, especially the aftermarket widebodies. Because they stick out so far, and if you got in a bad crash, the body would rip or break. The rear end of the 5T bodies were often ripped off of the car before the TC cage. The bodies are not weak in comparison to other large scale bodies, it is just there was so much unsupported areas that made the bodies easy to damage. The TC cage fixes this problem and a couple others too. With the TC cage installed, it is easier to get to the radio box and other internal structures, plus it has also helps keep other parts of the Baja 5T/SC from breaking as often, like front and rear shock uprights. I have seen firsthand a Baja 5T with this cage, fly straight into a wooden post, repeatedly, and drive away undamaged. If somebody did that same thing without the TC cage, their baja would have been trashed.

Forget about the structural benefits, the cage looks awesome with the barn dog panels on it. I was thinking about getting it just for that. It would be a body I don't mind bashing since it fits the whole scale look still.

Half my enjoyment is the scale look of the 5t and this cage makes it look like a sandrail without the weight of the steal frames plus it comes of relatively easy compared to the other cages I have seen.
