cleaning a crank case

Any suggestion on how and what to use on cleaning a crank case


I read some where about using ultrasonic cleaning . Is this good

a wire brush work pretty well, Maybe a degreaser of some sort.

unless it has unreal crud stuck to it,i would use wd40 and a tooth brush,don't spare the wd40 it always brings alloy up like new.either that or a good engine degreeaser

petrols allways a winner that will remove most dirt mate and a good stiff brush like the ones for car wheels work well

if you could find a ulta sonic cleaner big enough and cheap enough that will work well even using just water ive seen these in action at my tattooists and even he said they would work with just water he said its like tiny little nuclear explosions thats what removes the dirt

Airconditioning coil cleaner will bring the aluminum back to looking like new again. Hardware and Home Improvement stores carry the stuff.
