ok now some one please explain to me what the whole thing about rpm and springs is the baja ss has a 6000rpm spring and the baja fg has a 3000 rpmm spring i think, and i hav just ordered a ddm 9500 rpm spring. what is the difference does the cluch inguage at that rpm and what is the difference better start or slow start or what.:rolleyes:
 
the rpm rating on a spring is when the clutch shoes will enguage with the clutch bell. sort of like a torque converter on an auto trans.

the FG doesn't have a 3000 they come standard with a 6000, HPI red springs are 8000 and the FG blue is 7500 which is what I run.

advantages are it allows the engine to build up more rpm before enguaging in drive, less lag down low, disadvantages are more heat, harder on the drive train and more uncontrollable when it enguages, the higher rpm the spring the more heat, wear, uncontrollable it will be.
 
Thats right the higher the rpm the spring the higher up the rev range the spring will engage. I would recommend getting a three or four shoe clutch that is adjustable that way it can be tailored for your driving and conditions.
