Has anyone dealt with an extremely hot clutch bell say 300 degrees F?

I bought a infrared temp gun today after getting burned and noticed it reaches nearly 290-300 F?

Thanks for input!

if clutch is nearing being worn out,, it may slip and get bell very hot,, also are you running a enclosed clutch,,, my ddm enclosed clutch carrier would get very hot,,, still worked great , but didn't like the heat, so I made a slot in mine near the bottom like vertigos clutch carrier to let out some clutch dust and more air in,,, the clutch dust inside will build up and act as a insulator and keep the heat in,,, open clutches stay a lot cooler but lets more dirt, sand and rocks in,,,
