What is good to use to clean the clutch / bell unit from all that tacky dust? Break cleaner?? Simple green? Trying to see whats safe to use that wont damage shoes etc.....since the clutch needs to engage properly i don't want to second guess anything

On and off , just want to know what to use and best procedure to clean without damaging anything

I use brake cleaner when I have the clutch bell off, then I make sure I use a microfiber towel to wipe it off after. Never had an issue, I'm not sure I would clean it while it's on just because the clutch pads could absorb anything you put on it.

Compressed air works good, just remember its like brake dust so do it outside with ventilation.
