So I had 2 of the main gears teeth break (Redcat replaced for free, nice job). So i put it all back together and now the engine won't spin freely on the clutch. I can compress the clutch spring/shoes so it slides into the bell, no problem. It's like straight power to the wheels...thoughts?????

I replied to your other thread. Post some pics. That'll help us find the issue.
Thanks again...I've taken the thing apart and back together 3 times. When I start it, the wheels want to spin. Before it used to roll, now it doesn't. I loosen the nuts holding the gears too.IMG001.webp

When you say compress the shoes, do you mean together?

You should not be able to move those shoes with your fingers. They should be held together very tightly with the clutch spring.

The clutch shoes should not touch the clutch bell until 6000rpm if it is the stock spring.

If the shoes touch the bell you have a problem with the spring.

If you broke some gears I would check the gear plate for cracks, the x series plastic plates are known to be on the weaker side.

Looks stretched. When you remove the clutch does it go back to it's original shape? Thinking it could be binding when you tighten it up.

Yeah, plate was cracked in 2 places but Redcat replaced at no charge.
