I recently bought a g320rc Zenoah motor well when I was idleing first tank at first the truck would lurch forward then it stopped doing it . I was running around on second tank and when I would stop truck it would lurch forward then with it stopped and running if pulled truck backwards clutch was still engaged. I shut it off and when I rolled truck forward or backwards clutch was still engaged ? the idle isn't that high not high enough to engage clutch. I started back up and ran about a lap and shut off and truck free rolled without clutch engaged .is it suppose to do what its doing? does the cluth need to be broke in like motor? if not what would be the cause of my problem? its a brand new clutch came with motor .this all happened after running a little bit

I would also back off the idle as much as you can with it still being able to run, also check the clutch spring to make sure that it is not stretched because even if its not broken a stretch spring will act that way also. I have had it happen a couple of times.

idle cant go any lower. it would break a spring with only running a little bit at slowest speed possible?

would the clutch being bad .when running seemed to run rough at low speed? my truck seems to be rough running trying to keep at low speed but when I get into the throttle it smooths right out. but at very low speeds it sounds rough and doesn't smooth out

Ok that would sound more like a turning issue on your low end screw. Especial on the sound because the clutch would have no effect of how the engine sounds.

thanks its only the second run on the motor so should I wait to tune after break in ? do you think to rich or to lean its set at factory setting?

did the clutch come with the new Zenoah motor. if so and every thing else is stock redcat stuff. I think you'll find that if you use your stock clutch pads your problem will be solved. some slight difference between the two even though they look identical. I accidentally got clutch pads made for a Zenoah before and they were engaged all the time. I think there are two different part #'s if I remember right. in fact I know there are cause I just checked. look at r/c pitstop website on left under 1/5 scale parts and you'll see what I mean. hope this helps.

thanks !! yes it came with the 320rc so then the hy will fit wasn't sure about that . looking at my old one is a little rusty should I clean it up or order new one a stock one?

The high idle can make it engage.

If the low speed needle is too lean, the idle adjustment will not lower the idle.

I'd look into a air leak or adjusting l.s needle.,

Sure you are using the rite clutch housing? I have seen a lot of people get screwed up by using a Zenoah clutch housing, the length is different, there are posts out there on this, some one recently ran into this problem!

are you using a zenoah clutch housing or a cy clutch housing.
clutch bell is stock but the housing is suppose to be for the redcats for the Zenoah 320rc ddm has a regular housing for hpi and a what they call a shorty housing for losi and redcats they were suppose to send me the one specially for the redcat so what could be the problem??? this is a link and can see housing they were suppose send me http://www.davesmotors.com/Zenoah-G320RC-Engine-Complete.html Anyone know if rcdad is back cause broke screw on the gear housing for the brake mount and he seems to be the cheapest

Not sure if this will help your issue, but it looks like the clutch bell is glazing the clutch shoe. I was told it happens when fan the throttle or as other say blipping the throttle. If you take 120 grit sandpaper and sand away the light spots. Also sand the inside of the clutch bell it might help with the issue. Just something I read on the Baja forum. Hope this helps.

Even when starting engine for the first time it had nice low idle and every once in while she would go forward like clutch engaged then released right away my stock engine never had an issue like this so I have no idea .All input is greatly appreciated !!! should I put my hy clutch housing and the stock clutch on the 320rc if fits it or what should I do? I never feathered the gas was going real slow on second run and idle for first time running
