ever since i completed my MT5 2WD having issue with the clutch i disassembled the clutch system few times still same its always engaged i actually have to left up the rear of the truck so i can start it but once i put the rear down it shutdown

sounds like a spring failure to me, have you got another spring to test? if not get one or post a pic of whats under the clutch bell. you can get one for a few bucks off DDM.

I bought a 'standard' type 2-shoe clutch with red spring on Ebay and had the same problem after a while, then solved it by buying a modified clutch - not had one problem since.
Many people have no problems with the standard clutches and don't consider the modified necessary.

Is your idle way too high? There should be no reason that you need to hold the model in the air and when you put it down it stalls. That means your clutch is ALLWAYS engaged. Was it difficult to install the bell housing? You may have not installed it correctly. I have never had an issue with a new clutch or new spring allowing the clutch to fully open when starting unless its broken or not installed correctly or - You have installed your gear plate shims incorrectly which is causing your bell to sit crooked. They are the round aluminum rod shims that hold your gear plate away from the clutch housing. Check it out!;)

thx for the response guys i think i know where to start looking at the cause of the problem ill tear this apart this weekend and ill update you guys on the progress
