Back to the drawing board.

I have had my TT for 2 weeks and have run just over the first tank.

Replaced both servos, steering and throttle. Radio gear working great.

Took it out this morning for a run and now the clutch is not engaging.

The only thing I can think of is I was pushing a large rock for a few seconds. Could that burn up the clutch?

I understand the best way to get to the clutch is by removing the engine:confused:

Any suggestions on what to look for:confused:

Boy am I getting an education

Man you have the worst luck...........yank the motor have a look at the clutch, you will know if the shoes are worn out....but i'm thinkin its something else....gears perhaps????

I took the gear cover off this time before I ran. The gears look absolutely perfect. I can move the vehicle and the gears are turning freely up to where the motor/clutch would engage.

Clutch spring, is it broken? Pull off the B/C gears, crank the engine and see if the clutch engages the A gear. If it doesn't pull off the engine (or the gear plate) to see the condition.

Found the problem. Like I was describing, the gears were turning.

There is a square lug that has two allen set screws to the motor shart that was spinning.

What kind of locktight should I be using for these set screws.

I'm using red now after having blue come loose so many times. I'll probably have to heat the set screws if I want to get them back out again but I was sick of that happening.

Good you found the problem. I forgot all about those pesky things.

I just bought some green, will give that a try.

The funny thing is I was so proud after getting the electronics working. I was going to ask the group what to expect next.

Oh I wont have to ask, I already know:cool:

As I reading this I thought "check the set screws in the squares that the gears ride on" but you beat me to it. That happened to me the first time I drove my used one. It scared me a bit. I thought it was the clutch too.

don't know if this helps, but i was bored at work one day and made two snow plows for mine and dads trucks but while using mine i snapped the clutch spring at low rpm and don't understand why since i have drove my truck hard and it never broke, guess it didn't like to go slow,lol..
