Just got down installing a 8000rpm spring and after tightening down the clutch I noticed it doesn't snug down, there's a little play. About a 1/16th. I'm guessing this is to allow the pads to rotate as it opens?

You are correct. They they have the spring washers just to keep them from rattling around. If they were tight the shoes would not pivot on the bolts.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure because I couldn't remember if it moved before I took it out.. I was surprised how easy it was to switch out after reading so many horror stories lol..

That's weird. I've never had any play in my clutch assemblies.

Did you put all the washers back on? Two washers between the clutch and the clutch plate, and two spring washers between the bolts and the clutch?

I got the washers between the clutch and clutch plate but there wasn't spring washers on the front between clutch and bolt? I just did a double check and i don't see any sitting on the table. Weird. Noe I gotta take it back apart

So is it possible it didn't have the bevilled spring washers? I looked everywhere on my bench and I don't have those and honestly don't remember there being a washer on the front of the clutch?
