clutch problem

ive fitted a new clutch spring on my clutch i have the red hpi spring but the problem is that it pulls away really slow and the clutchbell gets hot fairly quick

can anyone help

springy type washers go between clutch shoe and head of retainer bolt, flat washer between shoe and clutch holder. did you check your clutch shoe bolts for wear preior to installing the new clutch? may want to check them out and see if they need replaced. i had one of my clutches stick open and burn up because of a clutch shoe bolt causing the clutch shoe to stick open.
 
Make sure the clutch bolts are set fully down and not stuck on the clutch shoe side and holding the clutch from movement.
It sounds like a binding issue. What type of motor did you put it in? Zenoah and CY clutches are different. They both need different bolt sizes. Let us know how it works out.
