Has anyone ever had the pad material separate from the shoe? Like as if it were glued to the metal and peeling back.1st time I have ever had this issue with a clutch that has only had 6 tanks through it.

I wonder if heat would cause this issue because when I finished my bash-on the gears were so hot they was smoking like a chimney lol.

heat gets everything, i have run down to the metal with sparks pouring out of the clutch.

never seen a pad dropped

Damn, that is hot. I bet the clutch over heated, and the heat transferred through the gears. With that kind of heat, the bearings will need some attention.

This all started with the gears locked up so I pulled the plate and the remembered that I manuly locked the breaks when I set the xb on top of the car for some cool off before leaving. I found the bearing on the b/c lay shaft was on the verge of dropping its ball and the shaft has a groove from a seized bearing and then I noticed the clutch. I'm glad I fought it when I did before total failure took hold...
