MY RED 8000 RPM CLUTCH SPRING BROKE ON MY REDCAT RAMPAGE XR HYBRID (hybrid, because I converted it to a full off-road vehicle). I discarded that spring, looked for a 8000 rpm replacement, but had to settle for a regular black clutch spring. My Gawd! I cannot believe what I stumbled onto.
With my high and low needles leaned-out for the 8000 RPM clutch, I knew that on startup the car would crawl and it did. I lowered the idle, and hit my backyard rc track.
THE FINDINGS:
The sound of the engine is now different. It is now lower, deep-rich, and sweet. The throttle response is faster and smoother; and my braking is way more controlled at corners: no more spinning out. My laps are faster, smoother and very controlled. I'm gawddamn happy.
