was bashing around this weekend with trickle007.mt running good.i stopped it to tune carb. when i went to restart the drivetrain is still engaged.i believe i heated the clutch spring and stretched it out.before i stopped the mt i was ripping donuts on the asphalt could my answer be correct/did i heat and stretch clutch spring?its a 8000 rpm hpi spring.trickle said clutch housing was still hot 5-10 minutes after .any thoughts would be helpful...

Im thinking the Clutch spring broke: it happens over time especially with the HPI 8000 RPM spring. I've had them break on me before. You have to check it to confirm.

cool Brio, thats what i was thinking either broken or stretched.man it was fun ripping donuts on the asphalt i guess its a small price to pay for a fun run....thanx talk to u soon...

30.5 stocker but its got some pep.i broke it in right..

i just broke my hpi 8k spring, it snaped at one end, and gave me same symptoms you have, then i saw my clutch pads had been run down to the metal :)

Dam dude that clutch is wasted.how much time do u have on that clutch? Is that a stock clutch?
thats the hpi lighten shoes + 8k spring, i cant tell you how much run time ive put on them, but ive had them fitted to my truck for about a year now, and i hammer my MT atleast once a week, and atleast once a month at a track

to be honest, if the spring didnt snap id still be running them now as they worked fine lol

I know what u mean.until it breaks u never know the condition of stuff ..lol..I saw video of u on the track it looks pretty bad ass.I like the way u mounted the camera on the mt and that goes pretty good for a stock muffler on it.I wish i had a track like that by me.

I cant get that spring to go on my stock clutch is there a trick it dosent seen like it will go into the hole all the way

it isnt a stock muffler, its a gutted baja 5T highflow muffler, my fav to run out of all the pipes.

yeh even i had to remove the paint on my 8k spring to fit the shoes tht came with them, was very tight fit.

and a 9k clutchspring would be a madman of the mark, but it would become very snatchy during corners, and ull loose most of the ability, to hold any lower revs power tho corners

All true. A 7500 or 8000 will be a very noticeable improvement over the factory 6000 rpm spring.

I have a 7500 in now but wasn't to happy till I took off the huge tires and put on some trenchers. Wow what a difference!! It is a way more fun snappy truck. I also feel better on 7500 cuz it seems more stout. Just need a wide body now.
