Which Clutch springs do i need to wake up the XT and MT?????


After break-in of course !


I want it to rip out of the hole !!! No BAAAaaaaaa!! BS I play hard and thge videos i have seen on the MT it just rips poop up. Thats what i want!!!!!


So please LMK What you guys are running and what u like??? Pipes, spring, Carbs ETC............??????????????????

I run the 8000 RPM clutch spring from HPI. The 7500 RPM clutch spring from DDM is another option.

The 8000 RPM spring really helps, and I've had no issues with it. DDM and LargeScaleRc carry them.

I run the DDM 7500 spring, not sure of what kind of difference it made because I had one installed when I ordered the truck. You can get two of the HPI 8000rpm springs for the price of one DDM spring, I would go for that.

How easy are these to install??? Im gonna get the HPI 8000!! BC I think I can get it at my local Hobby shop they deal with lots of HPI stuff


Im gonna wait until a few more tanks of gas before installing. I want my engine broke in good before taching 10-grand LOL

With a CY clutch, it's easy. With the HY clutch, you might need to put a little effort into it.

Whats the difference ??? I think My XT and MT are HY's. I hope to get them one day next week And My pipe should be here Monday !

I think the only difference between the two clutches is where the holes are drilled in the shoes for the spring. They are just a hair different, which is why its a little more difficult to put the spring on the Hy clutch shoes.

don't forget a piston stopper tool to remove the clutch when you swap springs.

I have the Walbro 813 carb and an HD clutch that comes with the 8000rpm spring from ddm it's only like $21 for the kit (clutch) and I have a jetpro sidemount on the way just with the carb and clutch my XB rips good I can't wait for the pipe to get here from what Dino at jetpro told me it should be night and day good luck with everything

The MT is broke in good now. I tuned the carb a little and it came alive.


Also im thinking of trying My Modified Zenoah thats in my boat in on of my trucks Just to see how it runs

OK i just did it!!! The red HPI spring WAS A BIT@#$%^#@ To get in but i got it ! and i took a few pics along the way so i will post some time. It runs right now

What benefit will adding a bigger clutch spring do? I am new to the 1/5th scale world. Thanks.

It lets your motor rev higher before the clutch engages thus more low end punch.

Your clutch will wear out more quickly. That will mean you'll have to buy more RC parts...now is that really a con?
