Do you have a pic of the clutch and the spring?

Are any of the gears binding? Do the wheels rotate easily when you raise the car up (without the engine running)?

there is no binding at all it rolls real smooth i also saw that when i took the two bolts off the clutch the clutch shoe fell apart thats how far the spring got strech out could my clutch bell be defected from the factory ? now that i think about it when i first got the truck and ran it that the clucth got real hot you could smell the hot clutch.

Sounds more like a) a spring failure or b) the spring wasn't completely on or even c) or like you said it is possible the clutch could have been defective.

Get yourself another clutch and spring and try it again. I would probably stay away from the spring you just used though.

Here are a couple tutorials to clutch spring installations:

well i put all new bearing in and a new clutch and spring and with in min the clutch bell is so hot and it just bog out and there is no binding at all. just about had it with this truck think its time to sell to many problems I guess I will try and replace the clutch bell mabe thats bad.

Umm, it's usually go or no go with the 8k springs....in other words DON'T idle around at 5k, you'll heat it up quick and once it's too hot you're done.

If you really think its your clutch check it. Is the spring good? Are the shoes installed in the right direction? Are the shoes glazed, grooved, burnt, or smell burnt? Are the shoe bolts tight? After youre sure your clutch is OK then move on to other things if that didnt work. A proper clutch is diconnected from the drivetrain until the RPM you specify, so if it binds w/0 the clutch engaged then its something else.

Where you drive it? If it's in a lot of sand this is normal that the shoes wear quickly, normally about 3 tank, I know, i'm always in sand, I have a collection of worn shoes here.

Or maybee you cook your shoes, a 8000k spring creates more heat at the start, and if you play in a very tight area, with grass, combined with a too tall gear and then stop and go, stop, go, stop, go, you will cook the clutch in 10min.

don't worry in installing the wrong way, in fact this is a well known mod wich reduce slippage at the start.
