Hi all Wots the best clutch too have??? Im running 29cc
All alloy upgrades k&n air fillter 603 carb 2 speed gears
and the standard clutchWiv 800rpm spring but the shoes
keeps running down Wot r use all running for clutchs??

stock clutches with a 8ooorpm spring on the hormann , 9500rpm on the marder then the stock 6k rpm spring on the baja. all seem to be fine, my clutch shoes last quite a while and i use tall gears, sometimes very tall which puts alot of stress on the clutch/ shoes.

Yeah I was thinking of going for the 3 clutch ones or the 4 ones
Not sure wich one 2 get lol
3 shoes has more contact points than a stocker and 4 shoe has more again.
for a stock engine and tuned pipe i cant really see the benefit for myself. i use stock shoes with my obr engine which should push out over 6hp and still have a relatively good life.
i wonder why your shoes wear out so fast. how many hours or tanks would you say your getting out of a clutch. one of mine was a cheapo £12 version brand new,ive used iit for 6 months (weekly at times) and thats fine too.

some people use stock clutches with the obr twins so i don't get it.
also be careful with the k n filter. i always thought it would be fine if i put an extra filter foam over the top, but grit and sand got in the carb but aslso theres a little breather hole on the carb what lets crap in .
what r car do you own?

I've got 3 fg baja look at pics every weekend about 12hours a
Week I've got tng fillter over k&n I was thinking a new 4 point
Clutch would b better and ave more life???

12 hours a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow, that sure gets some use!! your fg baja looks cool, you will need that wheely bar with the jetpro pipe.
as mentioned above, i think a 4 shoe clutch isnt needed but having more contact points should mean a lttle less wear but i not sure as have ran stockers.

i think i know why you have fast wear on clutches, because you run your baja more in a few weeks then i do in a year. lol.

have you a youtube channel??

on my bug im running a oddified off road clutch very good clutch cant comment on wear yet as ive only had a hour or so on it but it handles over 6-7hp without trouble so far

and the on road im running a fg 4 block adjustable picked up on ebay over 2-3 years ago and this has run great on the 6hp 23cc oddie with no signs of wear or slip and that cost £30 when it doe sdie if it dies then its going to be replaced with another oddie clutch for the price and cost of replacement pads/shoes its about the best option out there

i have run stock clutches but i never had any luck shoes coming un glued and general performance wasnt as good if youve got good power and want to put it to use then get a good clutch

Hi yeah there r only 3 no1 Wots to film wen we r out bashing lol
Utube dhirsty1 cheers peeps will try and get more vids up wen
The weather is nice again. Renbar that's wot keeps happening too

give ian @oddified.com a email well worth the money and cheap to replace the shoes where the fg shoes are twice the price of oddie's ones, but to be honest the fg one i brought has had over 2 years abuse and still looks the same as when i got it and it was secondhand then

for the price the and the fact cheaper shoes/springs the oddie clutch is the best value for money it don't take long to spend that amount on stock clutches i must of done 6 clutches in my bug untill i fitted the fg one which now lives in the on roader

i mean you wouldnt fit a stock clutch in a 1000hp skyline and expect it to work well or last more than 10 mins
but its not a 1000bhp skyline lol, the stock clutches are supposidly fine upto 500hp, the stock internals and gear boxs on 700 ,800hp skylinebut obviously wouldnt take the power like a full os gikon setup and forged bottom end.

for bashing a stock clutch has always been fine, ive changed my clutch once over a year, ive ran 2 stock engines and 3 tuned engines punching 6hp each. if you want something fancy to say your fg has a better part , go for it. but the amount of use you do weekly,(12 hours) any clutch will wear quicker. there have been plenty of 3 and 4 shoe clutches on ebay lately, i just haven't ever thought id need to upgrade as the stocks are fine for me, i just change the springs.

was the only way i could thing of explaning it mate but my bugs 6-7hp is to much for a stock clutch and you could hear it sliping but with the oddie clutch it grabs hard and goes like stink but hasnt even got a mark yet other than a bit of dirt unlike trebors unused mint display model

thats a lot of lump to move mate i was shocked that the bug weighs just over 12kg all the alloy soon makes it heavy but it also helps in traction and handling

what engines in your mt if i remember your running a ts?

It's a full spec TS 28.5 2-bolt.
Tuning's probably not perfect, but it's running well.

It shed a few Kg's when I swapped the alloy wheels/MCD chevrons for the plastic ones with slicks on, and it moved, was great fun, but with all of the wet stuff - rain I believe!! - I've had to revert to the chevrons, and full access is back again, but it seems a tad slow now ... never happy.
I'm sure part's in the tuning .... not too bothered as it still shifts quite nicely!!
Al.
