I don't recall ever seeing this here, but I just read on a boat forum,
"Coleman camp fuel is dry, super clean, and has zero ethanol and keeps carbs and engines clean for years and never gums up. Zenoahs love camp fuel."
Colman camp fuel with 8 ounces of oil per gallon.
It makes sense to me, but after 50 years of 2 stroke, I've never heard it. Good alternative to ethanol fuel.

I race with a guy that runs it in his baja, I've yet to see or hear any negative results from it. I've read that camp fuels have an octane rating of 50-55 so it seems pretty energetic, not too good for higher compression engines as knock may be an issue.

Never thought about it in cars but know the local plane club down the road had some guys that ran it.
I run VP non=ethanol so alcohol isn't a concern but wonder on a difference in power.

There's none of the additives/detergents automotive fuels have and octane is very low for engine use. It's basically a pure Alkylate fuel. With readily available caned fuel for engines, I don't know why anyone would chose to run it.

I used it in my first ever Baja with a 36cc. We had some sitting in the shed from a camping trip, no idea how old it was but I mixed it up and the engine ran great. Clean idle and it didn't feel any better or worse performance compared to regular pump gas. There was also no difference in wear or damage to the engine. For some free fuel we found in the shed it was great lol

What I did notice was once the engine was warmed up, if I tried to kill the engine with the kill switch it would continue running. Likely due to detonation igniting the fuel due to the low octane. It would run very rough and die if I gave it some throttle. The engine running with no spark was kinda funny and only slightly concerning for a runaway.

I say give it a try if you have it laying around, but at $20/gal with no real benefit pump gas is still my go to.

That is all I ran in my multiple gasser rc cars for many years with stock engines. When l purchased this losi 5ive B, I had been out of the hobby several years and engineered canned fuels, like the VP94 and Sunoco Optima 95, had become a thing and are what I run now, both in my ported saws and gasser rc.
I tried it once. Cold weather forget it. It’ll never start. Cheaper to go buy a 5 gallon pail of ethanol free race gas.
I forgot about that. They wont run in the cold at all without heating them up with a hair dryer.
