my mt is bone stock...just curious if adding a silencer would completely kill performance?? if not does anyone know of a good performing pipe that is quieter than stock??

The stock can is not that loud id you wanted quieter then go with a aftermarket pipe like x can jetpro ect ect with a silencer that would be quieter.

would some aftermarket exhaust with a silencer be even quieter than stock can?? i already been told to leave fields by cops its stupid as hell don't they have some j-walking 10 year olds to arrest?

Why not go down to your police station and talk to someone about what the law actually says. You may be able to find a loop hole.

For example, years ago, I have purple underlights on my Caprice Classic. Cops once gave me a warning. I never took them off because I phoned the station and spoke to a traffic cop. No red lights allowed on the front, no coloured lights allowed and no flashing lights that are not stock. WHen I asked about lights under the car, I was told multiple times that 'this is a grey area'. So, as long as you don't have the flashing underlights or the blue ones, you are fine. I would never have figured this one out had I not picked up the phone.

Call them and ask, Good luck!

When I need to test something in my garage at 2AM in the morning, I take a 1 liter plastic soda bottle, drill alot of holes in the bottom, stuff it with paper towels, duck tape it back together, and zip tie/tape it to my stinger with a silicon coupler. You'd be suprised how quite it actually is.

thanks guys for the help...come monday i gonna make a few calls...from what i know about local laws in my state (my old job at the tv/car audio/cell phone shop) my store manager was going to school to be police officer so i got to see alot of laws and loopholes...from what i understand if something in lou enough in a public or residential area to draw a givin number of complaints then it is loud enough to be looked into...so basically you cant mow your lawn or weed-wack your bushes when your old ass naighbor leaves their hearing aide cranked up... SO NO WACKIN IN THE FRONT LAWN!! what really sucks is actually the neighbors that all complain around me are middle aged men and women who just enjoy siting on their asses watching daytime tv, but this really old guy down the street loves the thing!! he things its the most incredible piece of techno-motor work as he calls it! haha..sorry to ramble on just felt like story time sounded good haha...anyways...im still on the hunt for the most silent yet performing exhaust...i think its an impossible search...good day fine sirs

you say its the middle aged men that are complaining? sounds like jealousy to me.

if you wanna get tech, buy your self a Db meter(decibels meter) and find out from the local police what the legal decibel limit is in your area. if your below the legal limit i wouldnt worry and i would challange the police if they tryed to move me on.(if you know your below the legal limit)

if i was living in an area like yours, id start making everything i own loud.

id be putting big bore exhaust on everything :) and mow the lawn every day, get the leaf blower out, trimmers, rotovator and just piss everyone off untill they move out :)

or if you like you neibours just ask around what times of day people wouldnt mind you making some noise.
