Is there way to check compression on these little motors?

Is there a good/bad range?

Can a psi compression tester like used on cars work?

I have used them before on 4 stroke motorcycles...

On another idea...

Has anyone heard of or used a "color tune"?

I used it on motorcycles, might work on 2 stroke..?

I don't know if you can use a psi compression test on our motors can't see why not but have no clue as to the psi operating range. I would assume that colour tuning is checking the colour of the spark plug. I would recommend to check plug colour anyway to make sure you don't run lean.

Color tune is a cool tool !

A motorcycle guy from the UK told me about them.

After warming the engine up, stop and remove the spark plug...

And install the color tune, it is a spark plug made of glass/pyrex.

You can look THRU the plug and SEE the combustion.

The color changes as you adjust the fuel mix, cool as hell !

You can run a compression tester on the engine as long as you have a receptacle or adapter that will fit into the plug hole. Most good compression testers come with various threaded attachments.
