Could stale gas be the culprit?

I ran my MCD RR the other day after a long break, roughly 1 1/2 years and it fired right up. I had some gas from back then that was already mixed and I proceeded to put it in the tank. It started right up. The idle was a little high, but after tweaking that, the car was ready to go.
After about 15 minutes of racing, it took a break and let the car idle for a minute. To my surprise it stalled! So I started it back up again and let it idle but after 5 seconds it stalled again. So i re-adjusted the idle a little higher, but then the car started moving forward. So every time i put the idle lower it would stall and every time i put it higher the car would move forward slowly and rev.
It didn't happen last year.

What do you guys think?

Mate,if your fuelling a petrol mix, after a year and a half your looking for trouble.I use 99% octane with a synth oil mix and if its not used after three weeks I give it to Jackobyte or Jace..JOKING!!. I bin it !
It sounds to me like you have poop in your carb or an air leak? Bin the petrol and give it a fresh mix, and see how it goes from there.

Thanks Dude,
I will get some fresh gas this weekend be 4 the next time I race! The carb is clean and I don't have any leaks in it, but the exhaust header was a little loose. I gotta put some more locktite so it stays put.
I'll fill you in.

I was brought a leaf blower last night to fix and I looked at the clear gas in the tank and asked how much oil he mixed in... 3-4 drops? LOL... here put this fuel in... runs good. just need to adjust the needles today

2-3 drops and the engine didn't cease? LOL
I always do the 25:1 ratio with castrol synthetic 2 cycle oil.

since I told people these rc's basically use weedwacker motors, I've had 2 chainsaws and a leaf blower come to me this week to take a look at haha. and the usual... can I make an rc with this?

When I was a kid, my buddy and I went to a lawnmower shop and the owner put a wead wacker motor on our go-peds. Those things could move.
What I always wanted to do was get an 1/8 scale buggy with a petrol motor but i don't know if those nitro engines can be converted to petrol. The reason being is that those nitro motors are so finikie.

davis diesel has a conversion but diesel...

I had a duffy scooter with a 39cc? it really moved. I had some tough times and was without a car. took almost as long by bus to get to work as it did to walk (I saved about 10 mins for an hour walk). but it was up and down some serious hills. so I bought this scooter to get back and forth to work. cut that hour walk down to about 15 mins... but going 30 mph on a little scooter is scary, especially when you blow a tire or throw the chain. I ended up doing break rolls into someone's yard one night after a blow out

Damn a break roll sound bad. I didn't mind the chain popping out so much since it was on the back tire. The sucky part was getting your hands full of grease putting it back on.
One time a F@&King squirle ran in front of me doing 30mph and I nearly castrated myself on the handle bars. I swear that damn thing was looking at me after with a smirk on it's face.

Ha ha,animals hey..tut...That reminds me of the time I was driving to work in a Toyota Hi-Lux Monster truck I had and there was a hare in the middle of the road with its back towards me,it didnt know what happened until I was on top of it and by then it was toooooo late:omg: The axle hit it and decapitated it! When I looked in the mirror its body was virtually where it was but its head was rolling doing about 60MPH behind my truck!.......Hmmm.....rabbit stew???.
Well at least it didn't feel nothing.

Dude that's roadkill alright.
I like how in Europe the cars have different name.. Like the "Toyota Hi-Lux" It makes it sound so much smoother than the lettering names like TDR or SS...LOL
