I recieved my cpi pipe an the bolts that come with it are to long to bolt it to the motor. Am i missing something. Just got truck also first time with 1/5 scale. You buy a $185 pipe an u have to find your own bolts. HELP

Several ways to solve this: 1. go to the hardware store and get shorter bolts. 2. See if the stock bolts from the old muffler fit (not likely though). 3. Use some washers to take up space between the pipe and bolt head. 4 Put a nut on the bolt, cut off part of the threads, then run the nut back off to straighten the threads.

You will find that when it comes to 5th scale, the fun part is the problem solving and "making things work". Good luck with it and don't let it frustrate you- once that pipe is on you will be AMAZED!!!

You can also cut the head off the bolt and thread it into the head with red loctite as a stud. Then use nuts to hold the pipe on. I like to leave the studs in the head. Less chance of stripped out holes.

+1on cutting off the heads and using as studs.also notch the end with a dremmel or hacksaw blade that way u can use a flat tip screw driver to tighten them up.
