Have you made any mods to the rear bumper, if so what and pics please. It's a shame the pipe isn't shorter so it could have been protected.

Blackout, my idea is to use aluminum plate an d do the following:

-bolt the alum plate (1-1.5" in length) to the rear chassis where the bottom bumper mounts to.

-bolt bottom bumper to the extent dedicated alum plate

-Fabricate some upper mounts and bolt in place

Still putting it back together so haven't done anything besides brain storming. Definitely keeping the plastic bumper to absorb the shock when I beat on it!

I purchased a used CPI pipe and darned if I didn't break the doodad that holds the spring.

I am wondering if you drill a hole in the pipe to mount a bracket? Is it thick enough to support hardware?

I don't use a spring. I just hose clamped each end of my coupler. Which, I changed to high temp heater hose after the old coupler wore out. I have had no problems with this setup for over a year.

Cyber.....

Have a CPI rear mount on an XT. It sticks out 1 1/2" beyond the rear of the body. Did about 15 cartwheel crash down the dune and "no damage to the pipe" or mounts. Mounted properly they are very durable. My rear pipe mount is 3/16th x 3/4 alum bar stock that spans both rear upper shock mounts .

Also sent you a PM about your MT parts.

Right, after a very short bash, both mounting points broke off the pipe, the actual fan cover mount snapped off and the aluminium plate broke. Not sure what I'm going to do now as I do not know anyone who can make me a replacement plate. I'll have to buy a new fan cover though if I do manage to get a replacement plate. ARGGHH.

The same thing happened to me. Did any of the welds actually crack? If not, you're in luck. I have worked through all those issues and can help with any mounting problems.

Luckily no welds cracked. I already knew the fan cover part or the weld on the pipe would break around that particular area because I really had to struggle to get those two points to line up, there was no give what so ever so it was only a matter of time. Is there any full proof way of attaching the pipe back on?
