I recently purchased a cpi pipe and see it hangs past bumper on the mt. my first run with it I did a end over end it broke the mount on the fan cover I am wondering if the aluminum fan cover would hold up better or will it snap like the stock one? any ideas on how to mount it so will hold up on a end over end crash? I am worried about breaking the shock tower too cause pipe mounts to it.pipe really wakes up the truck has awesome power but unsure if its any good for jumping. if i decide not to use cpi pipe and get a x-can with 6 inch stingers will it give me better low end power then stock? x-can fits under rollcage and seems well protected I am not looking for speed but low end power

that's exactly why I didn't buy the cpi for my mt

you think they could have made it a wee bit shorter

think I'm gonna go with the Dominator fast pipe with my build,as soon as my new shocks come in I'll start designing new front and rear shock towers/mounts

I use rubber bushings to give a little cushion between the pipe and the tower. The pipe really transfers a lot of the shock from the tower to the engine braking the fan case mount. I have used the aluminum cover for several months with no issues yet.

excellent idea

is that the CPI pipe in the pic?

Yes, it's a CPI pipe. The only other issue is that the aluminum mount you get with the pipe is worthless. It will crack running over sand paper. So I have been using angled aluminum and it has been working really well.

where did you get bushings from? thanks for pics was thinking maybe I could cut pipe down an inch and reweld it so doesn't stick out as far off truck

cpi pipe

Home Depot hardware section. Buy a couple of different sizes along with a longer mounting bolt. I wouldn't cut the pipe down, just reinforce the pipe mounting. You will inadvertently affect the performance of the pipe.
