Hey everyone,

just got my craftwerks MCD heavy duty spark plug wire for my MT5.
Just wanted some pointers on installing the wire correctly.

Thanks

hi mate its quite easy just remove engine take off fan cover then you will see the coil the old spark plug lead just unscrews once you have done that youre new one goes on the same way but you should have a bit of heatsrink put that over new lead screw new lead in place tightly slide heatsrink down to the bottom heat it up then start putting back together you might not beable to get the little rubber grommet back in as the new lead is fatter i just cut mine down a put a bit on the fan cover side as thats metal you may also have to cut down the spark plug end by about 10/15mm depending on what spark plug you use i was running the short standard plug but now ive got the beetle sheel ive got more room and use the iridium plug and thats longer so i didnt need to cut it shorter after all

Thanks for the great explanation.

Question: is there really a big difference in performance from the stock plug wire vs. the craftwerks wire?

i cant see any difference but you might have a stronger spark which will help i only brought mine for the bling factor plus it was a ebay bargain

Yeah i agree with you. The "bling factor". But no matter the reason you get it, I still feel it's superior in quality compared to the stock wire.

yeah, i installed the plug on my FG MT and it looks really nice. I ordered a 2nd one for my Baja 2 days ago.
