Crankcase crack

Fairly new engine. Outside crank case cover where fly wheel is at a threaded hole piece broke off. Flywheel cover bolts to this area. Is it possible to replace just one piece of crank case with new gasket & bearings & leave piston & back of crank case en place. Baja 5b 30.5cc. Have JB weld setting now. But expecting the worse though.

yes you could replace just one side of the case mate, but i assume its just a cast alloy case and not billet, so even if ya bought a replacement it would come as both halves of the case, so you may as well just replace both

Well good news if anyone is interested. JB weld fixed my cast aluminum crankcase
Problem. 1st part of crankcase where cover bolts to broke at a threaded screw hole. Cleaned, JB welded it, & is holding.
Sould get few more sessions out of buggy & then looking to repower with better engine. Only when JB weld fells of course.

I'm curious how you managed to bust off one of them corners of the case? They are kinda tucked away ..... FYI whenever posting about carnage like this ALWAYS post pics. We wanna see!
