Well, it warmed up a bit so I decided to take the KM out for a spin. While cruising the parking lot I hit someone's vehicle tire and broke my other front wheel off. So now I have two HPI front wheels. Then I took it around back and was running around in a drainage ditch where I crashed it into a manhole casing. That shattered the front bulkhead (plastic), bent a front shock tower support (stock aluminum), severely bent and gouged the front chassis brace (stock aluminum), and destroyed the steering wiper (plastic). So far this thing has cost nearly $2000 but I guess once everything is billet aluminum I will have learned to select areas that are obstacle free and it will last forever. After this the only plastic parts will be the rear bulkhead and the wing.
 
In addition all of my billet parts have come from either LargeScaleRC or Integy. My wing is shattered too by the way. Did that in the roll over that broke my rear hubs. I don't really care about the wing as I feel it is more for decoration than anything. Maybe I'll craft one out of filleted light wall aluminum tubing or something IDK. Anywho, ttyl.

Seriously, that is alot of "toy" to not have full control over. Especially out in public areas.

Maybe having my son made me grow up and think the way a father does,, But that line really struck me as wrong.

Disgusting.

I've been driving "KM Junk" for over a year and never had a wing 'shatter' yet,and I don't baby my cars.

I don't run the car where other people are. Nope, no way. Too much can go wrong. Having a 30 lb car nail someone in the ankle isn't something I want to see. I go to basically uninhabited areas where the only damage that can happen is to me or the car. I was a bad decision but by no means disgusting. Animal cruelty or child abuse comes to mind when I think of something disgusting.

Alright you made your point. I was wrong and I apologize and I promise to never do that again even if I'm in the center of the Gobi desert. Are we good now? Let's move on.
 
Nah, just tired and cold. I don't tend to linger on one subject for too long. Kinda gets old after a while if you do. After all I was just stating an opinion of what disgusting meant to me that why I said "I think". I personally wouldn't use that word in the same context. Pathetic would have been a better choice actually. I didn't expect a Webster definition as a reply.
 
Tex, are you using the stock KM 2.4? if so you can set it up so that when the TX is off (or out of range) and the RX is on that it goes full break

I replaced the stock Tx/Rx with a standard Futaba 3 channel with a Futaba fail safe installed. I always make sure the onboard battery is fully charged and keep it close anyway. There's not very many places that I know of in Illinois made specifically to run these things. I heard of some full size dirt ovals south of where I live but I'm not looking for an actual track. I want wide open spaces....so Texas might be where I get a chance to really open it up.
 
I guess our off road group is disgusting then because they told me I HAVE to bring beer if I show up LOL

Sorry to hear about your luck. I have ordered most replacement HPI plastic parts just in case as spares. Going to upgrade a few parts to alloy, but not many.
