I guess even though these 1/5 scale buggies are bigger and seemingly stronger than 1/10 scale buggies, it's all still relative. More power, weight, and momentum equal more replacement parts that must be ordered. Anyway, I broke a front wheel off by grazing a curb at about 50 mph, broke the rear skid plate (I don't know how but I have an idea), shattered the front suspension bulkhead (which I replaced already with the extra than came with the buggy), lost the two front roll cage screws, and cracked the body.

So far I have ordered a few sets of HPI rims, two additional HPI bulkheads, and two HPI rear skid plates. If these break, I'm going to Turtle and Integy for billet aluminum materials. I may need some HPI stickers soon too.

Way to go Cat! Did anyone tell you when you bought it you need deep pockets:lol::lol::lol: .As you said because of the size and weight the cars are hitting things with more grunt and busting parts with ease:(.
But thats just part of the game mate.
Have fun.

u think thats all? the braking Odyssey is not finish yet. even if you don't crash, parts will ware out easy.
Have fun.

this is the only downside to large scale, a big rollover and it can cost you$$$$$$$$ i used to run a hyper7 and that thing was tuff , nitros can take more abuse but i would,nt go back to one.

nitros can take abous but when my hyper 7 was out with hyperpete and pablo pete landed on me and brokethe hub wheel and c hut

yeah i used to race rallycross, the pounding those buggies can take is unbelievable.. and i have to say it, scale-wise they're much tougher than largescale due to their impact weight.

michael - do you venture over to deeside? i work every other week in liverpool docks and was trying to get there on sunday-gone but couldn't escape work. i aim to be there in january though..

Don't worry mate, being able to drive will arrive sooner than u can imagine, then life just becomes a big blur after that..
So has ya Baja bust through crashing or just general wear n tear?

I did the same thing to my front wheel on the first run. Replaced them with HPI wheels but they don't seem any stronger. I think I'll try some RPM parts. They have proven to be strong on my nitro cars.

Thats a good attitude to have Texascat. I've been involved with 5th scale for about 5 years now and still amazed at times when they break.
