Hi,

just wondering are there others building their own custom engines?

So here is what I'm doing to get more from my motor. I just bought the Gimo full mod and to make it a super mod. I'm pulling the head and installing a lightweight piston pin. This a lightened fly wheel should give me a wider power band.

Maybe this is something that you my want to try.

I've done that lightweight pin already.

I built a 43cc reed engine for my Baja. You can find 4 videos in Youtube. Start from video number one and read all video descriptions if you want to know more and what kind of modifications I did in between.

Here is the First video. Continue from there to the next video if you want. I added the latest one today.

nice videos.great job on the engine build, pulls very hard and runs strong even with the big gears. did you sort the gear problem? im using blackbone gears 30/44 which are strong as hell .

I now have Blackbone too after the gear mishap. I just made another order for a custom gearset to Blackbone. They will make me a 25/49 set.

You have a 30/44 set? That is really tall gearing. Can you share what kind of a car you have? You had the RCMAX 70cc didn't you?

sorry jariv, not being rude.i haven't been as active on forums recently.
yh I have a hpi t with pitbull kit etc, weighs appx 17kg, its my first hpi baja which I brought as a roller then put the rcmax in.
30/44 is like medium gears, have 24/50 but its too low,I think it would pull 34/40 offroad no probs.ive only had the balls to exceed 70mph offroad once, gets abit hairy lol.

25/49 sounds a good ratio , blackbone do 24/50, not as high but close .
cheers
