Not sure if this is the right place to add this but I guess that the moderators can move it to whatever thread is appropriate.

I’ve been into RC’s for a while and if you read my previous (and only) post you will note that I had my MT stolen.

Good news, got an MT Pro V3 in replacement.

This made all of my other rampages (TT and Dune Runner) look bad so I have ordered all of the alloy hopups (from a well-known rampage forum sponsor) to make them look the part.

However, I’ve been really frustrated with the amount of hopups and custom items available to the rampagers. We have essentially got a far superior platform than the baja (just an opinion) but due to numbers we don’t have the bling parts.

So, I’ve been looking at suppliers who can make stuff for me (us) to my (our) designs that satisfy My (our) needs.

Found this company. Never used them before and this always makes me a little sceptical but the tools, software and the ability to get pricing within 2 mins means that I have been able to design the part that I want and then design out the expensive parts and resubmit for a quote.

I’ve just done this as an exercise to see what the costs are and was presently surprised.

Considering the fact that over $100 is the freight costs are due to the fact that I choose to live in the most isolated city in the world (Perth Australia) I didn’t think that the price was too bad. About the same as stock parts.

The price was based on 20 items (or ten sets, 2 per car), anodised in blue and machined in T6 or 6061.

Price is $35 USD per unit to my door.

There is also a facility on the site that allows you to sell the items to others.

Is this just me or is this exciting. Maybe it is just me and I should get out more and start a family?

But before I do I will be looking at getting prices for:-

Stainless steel arm pins with threads for cap head screws instead of bloody E clips,

A centre dif/bevel cover/gearbox

A front and rear (same) gear box design

Maybe a billet servo box

Thicker gauge chassis plate

Maybe some belt gears of varying diameters………who knows?

Hope work doesn’t get too hectic. I’ve got a lot of important stuff to do….

custom parts

Probably should have mentioned that the company/website is eMachineShop.

They allow you do download a piece of modelling software which is how you submit your designs for assessment. You select your material, finish give your postal address and submit the qty you require.

I just drew everything up in solidworks and imported it as the software isn’t the best.

Would anyone else be interested in a bulk buy of some of these parts?

I guess that there would be a leap of faith that the parts designed by an individual would be fit for purpose.

Am I excited for no reason, have you guys used this service and been burnt?

Am I not seeing the glaringly obvious that stops we as a community having exactly what we want?
