CY f270

Got myself a new cy f270 coming (27.2). Anybody have any experience with these engines? Going to be replacing my darksoul/sikk 26cc engine (for sale!).

It's a great all around engine. No plating issues, as far as I've seen. Plus, it's a 4 bolt. You can't really go wrong with it.

i had mine in my baja but put it in my xb. i run 35/25/26/24 gears and a jetpro side pipe and thr tires just tear up the grass and fast as hell. never had a problem and easy to tune.

Found this site showing the difference between the F270 and a Zenoah G270, transfer ports are quite a bit bigger on the CY... not sure how much of a difference this makes?

Plus it is a stroker engine. I just built one for my baja. Inside the head looks nice and everything matches up to the case very well. Hope to fire it this week. Left it stock, but relieved and smoothed the top of the piston.

How did you do that?

I mounted the piston in my lathe.

Took 4 thousandths (.004") off the diameter to help prevent the ring getting stuck if it runs a little lean by mistake. Then just took emery cloth to sand the dome smooth.
