Rebuilding my ramp and got the Dark Soul Marine head, Zrc vstack, shreadstack, new fuel line, 813 carb, 23cc waterhead and some other stuff. Not sure how well these will work together, but if its good I am thinking about a ported 27.2 w/Dark Soul Marine Head. What are your guys thoughts or experiences? Im not sure if I can use the zrc vstack w/shreadstack either. The head will be open to the air so maybe it wont get crammed with loose grass and dirt like the stock one thats enclosed under a shroud.

i have one in my dunrunner .just got it broke in yesterday not impresd with the the way it runs,my ported 29 is snappyer in my mt .it seems to run cool 96f runing it hard ,checked with temp gun at the spark plug.

Definitely send a PM to Catchaser he knows his marine cylinders. I got a 26cc DS/Sikk engine off of him in a trade and I can tell you without a doubt it was a high revving powerhouse. Its not a a huge torque monster like a full mod 30.5, but it definitely has the power. On a sidenote they are cheap as hell to rebuild.
 
Ok I got a 26cc head on it. Im going to try it on the Blah-ha first and if I like it them put in in the Ramp. I will do the 27.2 if I like it. I have 3 or 4 complete engines I am combining to make 2 really nice ones. What does SIKK stand for?

Sikk if I remember right was the name/importer of the CY Marine heads.
 
I got the whole hopped up engine 8k clutch spring, ds head, 26cc water head+ piston, 668 carb, shreadstack, hpi filter, clutch, the whole thing ready to bolt in for $120 shipped. I needed a shreadstack, pullstart, 668, and HPI filter anyay. This was a deal just for the parts and I have spare heads/pistons to make it a 23,26,or 28.5 if the DS sucks. And its like new. Ill run it in my blah-ha for a bit. :D I have 4 complete engines now and 2 in parts.
 
Well then. You got a great deal. I sold my DS cooling head with a new cylinder for 120.00 and it cost me another 2 cylinders. LOL so you got a good deal. Let me know how it works out for you.

Poor cooling piston expantion, piston catching on the exhaust port. THats all.


Couldn't keep a cylinder in it. Kept scoring the cylinder after a couple times it was mentioned to me that the piston should be relieved around the ring. Due to the poor cooling the piston gets too hot expands and the piston catches on the exhaust port.
