Just got my second tank through this setup, so far very impressed! It's a DarkSoul racing billet head on a CY marine 26cc cylinder w/stuffed crank. Still running rich but can tell this thing wants to fly! Definetely much stronger than the stock 30cc that was replaced.

Here are some pics and I will keep this thread updated with ongoing results.

Thanks guys! What drew me to this engine is the fact that top end rebuilds are dirt cheap ($49 @ OBR) and for a better than stock one at that.

Stalker, did you have any issues with overheating in your baja?

That's good to know, thanks stalker. I noticed that the DS head was hot to the touch but the actual cylinder itself was just warm... the heatsink is doing it's job :)

Got another tank through it today, just keeps getting better and better. So far so good!

Yeah, mine seemed to be faster as time went on with mine. The only issue I ever had with mine was a blown head gasket. Once I went to a copper one that solved the problem.

I've run DS marine setups for a few years now. You have the 2 bolt which is very different compared to other stock 2 bolts. The stock exhaust port is massive. The 4 bolt head is what I run. I have to spend 30 minutes on it with a dremel just to get the exhaust port to match the 2 bolt.

Yep it is huge. Even the intake port is quite a bit bigger than the stock 30. Took it out today but disaster struck almost immediately, the engine just quit and wouldn't start again. Removed it from the chassis and found a broken DDM clutch spring.... guess it was about time for this to happen :(

Oh I switched to that Bel-Ray H1R oil for this engine Demon, you had recommended it in another thread. Stuff's real expensive, hope it runs cleaner than Klotz did hehe.

Everybody I talked to said it burns clean. I got a gallon on my new 23cc and took a look at it the other day. The piston top is defintely dark but not black and crusty like the klotz would leave it. It's not really even black. It's like if you took brown/black thick watercolor and colored some areas.

That sounds good. I did notice that with this oil it smokes a lot? I was surprised, it seems to smoke more than Klotz. After running my pipe is covered in black marks, wipes off real easy though. I'm running a 25:1 mix.

Just an update on this setup...

Got a few more tanks on it today and am very impressed! This thing revs wickedly high and is quite a bit faster than stock. Did some temp testing on it as well, without the body on the cylinder gets to about 220-230f max. With the body on it got up to 260f. Compared to my friend's RP 28.5 in his baja the temps are almost identical which is good news.
