I searched and searched but did not find any who has done it. I know they are different and maybe because they are so far off size wise but has anyone used the DBXL cage on a 5T?

One of my next projects is an attempt to either put a 5t 2.0 body or 30 degree north on the dbxle 2.0. Going to size up with raminator, 5t cages. I'm sure something can be done. Have 5t body on raminator/cage. Had to stretch body slightly but thinking about a MOD body for 5t 2.0 so might get a new 5t cage and stick the 30 degree north body on dbxle. Anything possible with some modifications but you might have some extra holes in body. Raminator looks great with 5t body but it's not a show car you know. I'd start measuring wheelbase then go from there. To cold for garage time but spring not far away!!!!
You got my curiosity going.Gonna say no. Take a lot to put 5t cage on dbxle but adapting 30 degree body to dbxl cage looks like a possible process.Oh wait you want to put dbx cage on 5t ....well at least you can compare wheelbase, pretty close too same. Trying is best part of hobby!!! Give it a shot, might try it myself!!!

Thanks Mick. That settles my initial thought using the DBXL cage.
Next year and as a total side project i want to make a IFS/IRS Class 1,4 KOH style cage. I like the look of the Losi Super Rock Rey and loved my Axial yeti XL. That would involve pinching, cutting off sections and more than likely making cage inserts, tubes etc. I think it would be best to start with a 30DN cage and start cutting it up.

First of all i would like to say thank you for bringing this up, like I need another project..lol. But you got me thinking that would be really cool!
Anyways I think it would be a no go for that. You might get away with the wheelbase and trying to make a wing mount but the width, especially with a gas 5t, is way off. No way a dbxl cage can clear the pipe and air filter without being widened. Good thought tho.

So you thinking like 1/5 scale rock bouncer? Exocaged ,Joe on utube did a custom raminator, awesome but expensive. I want solid axle rear ,independent front style... I always think about my udr without body or losi super baja Rey without body.... But
once bitten by 1/5 scale u always want to go big..... and let's not forget kraken..... Oh my we've opened a can of worms.......Really wish losi still made super rock rey.....
