Hey guys, I've having issues with the fuel being fed to my carb when it reaches levels below 50%. I purchased the FID 870ML taller tank. I see the fuel filter is laying sideways on the bottom of the tank so it looks submerged for the most part. When I accelerate to top speed, I get bogging from fuel cutouts when I'm around 50% and below on the tank. I guess the fuel sloshes to the back of the tank starving the carb of fuel. Even worse if I brake hard, the motor just cuts out completely. Below 30% full sometimes the idle gets rough too. This is my first gasser so maybe this is just a normal thing that people deal with, but does that mean to get it running properly I have to keep fuel levels to 50% and above? Not a huge issue, but would be nice to get consistent run times past the 20 min I get per half tank. Any tips or tricks to solve this issue? Do you guys typically run the fuel filter in the middle of the tank or towards the back? I'm guess it has to be fully submerged at all times otherwise it'll get air in the lines. I also think the taller and shorter FID tank would intensify this problem as a taller tank would allow more sloshed fuel to accumulate on one end while accelerating or braking. Might not to be an issue off road, but I mostly run on tarmac. Maybe the fuel tank could use some chambers at the bottom to eliminate this problem.
thanks,
thanks,
