hi guys, i have a DDM Dom pipe (torque) after trying to fit to my MB Pro (MT) & getting severely pissed off, ive give up, the side mount hole is about 4-5mm out, i thought it were just me but after looking up on it, seems im not the only one to have this prob fitting this pipe, i know all that needs to be done is to make the hole longer, but.. i don't have the tools to do it & i shouldnt have to!

wtf were ddm thinking when they put these mount brackets on! The pipe is used off another MT, the only way i can get it to fit is by forcing it which will not be good on my engine, they should fit snug :(

the pipe is used & do have the option to hand it back & get a diif pipe, but i really wanted this pipe but i aint gunna chance it screwing up my engine because the mounts are half a job from DDM! :(

i've heard quite a few people have this issue. probably distorts a bit when the weld it, and I'm guessing they don't have a jig.

afraid that the only option is to r-drill it or dremel it, because you don't want it to put stress on the manofold connection as that may cause it to crack after while.

Sperera had the same problem with his Beetle.....I just used a round file to open it up bit.....

Surely you could get your hands on a round file....

They are a wicked pipe.....but I agree with you about where they have put the bracket.....their jig must be up the shitter...

Here Daz,Heres a few pics.I'll shove some more detailed ones p tomorrow.

Mine fitted perfectly on my MT.
There are MANY entries / threads where people have had problems like this.
Everyone opened up the hole - drill, file - after which no worries.
I'm sure James will sort you out as he says.

yup im one of those people that needed to open up the whole a bit. I agree it should be right out of the packet. I purcahsed after the dom 2 jetpro pipes, one for the mt and one for my baja and they were perfect, everything lined up spot on.

i think its because that pipe isnt specific to the MT, it can be used on the baja etc so they hole is sorta mid ground and needs slight mods to fit depending on the vehicle your going to use it on.

do you have a drill? you can just drill it out, or as Rossco said use a file or a dremel will do it as well.

I think BTB put a sticky up on the DDM Doms or a post at least. He (as we all do) had to widen the top right gear plate hole(on the pipe) to get it to sit right.
I have mounted Daz's (what was mine) to an alloy gear carrier on my MT and had to fiddle around a bit but it did go with all the right compression seals(ask Ian,he seen it running for a few secs) and didnt leak.
As I said to Daz on the phone/text,if not 100%,money back,I'll get more on fleebay.

Here you go Daz,I'm not taking the piss,It does work and I might of exagerated when I said it was run for about 20-30 secs....it was 36!!! Ask Ian ,he's seen it.
J.
Oh ,bye the way, the gearing was a two speed on 42/40 thats why it didn't have the acceleration.

hiya guys :)

been a nightmare! but ive got it on after about the 20th attempt! lol, i believed you james dude :) seen the pics etc before hand, & like i said to ya dude, the last thing i wanted was money back & i was determined to get the fker on! lol. (although i was tempted to still say i couldnt fit it purely for the bacon buttys!!! haha) when i take it off next time i will make that hole slightly bigger that you guys have suggested so i don't have this prob again.

But still, defo a bad design (on the mounting) from DDM imo :s ..all they have to do is make that hole slightly longer so what ever model you got it will easily line up!

cheers again james, ive fitted the chrome casing too! ;)

speak soon :)

hiya mate, got it to fit in the end, just seems a little tight so gunna give it a try then order a new gasket in week to re-fit it as im gunna make the side bracket hole slightly bigger so theres no strain on it, or the head :)

don't bother ordering a gasket, there's one here you can have.BNIP.
