Got A customs letter, they want £11.19. the only things i'm waiting for are from DDM.
Ordered a pull start @ full price and teflon gasket, then 4 days later i got 2 pull starts @ DOTD and head gasket, both were paid for seperately and with $7 postage each, plus i made sure both orders were under the £18.
Hope DDM haven't sent both together as this would take me over the £18 (the amount you can import without VAT and £8 handling charge) and as like i said have paid 2 lots of postage.
 
they must be together if you got a letter from customs:(

I'll tell you what I detest, it's the fact that the Royal Mail would deliver it anyway if it came from abroad, but was beneath the £18/36 (you can purchase up to £36 from a private individual) but if it's over, they slap an EXTRA £8 or £10 'delivery / processing' charge onto your extra VAT.
Your part may be £23, for example, VAT is ~£4, then the bar steward Royal Mail slap on an extra £8 minimum. A £23 part comes through your door at £23+8+4 = £35 !!

just picked the parts up.

DDM did post them seperately after all, the cost on the package was $27.79.
which worked out at todays exchange rate, wait for it £18.0379,
4 fooking pence over the £18, what a load of bollocks!

cost me an extra: £8 customs and £3.19 import tax

hope they chock on that pint the gits.:mad::mad::mad:

DDM made a mistake on my last order of DOTD Pull Starts, they added the Postage Costs with the Item Value which made the Package Value over the £18 Customs Allowance.
I had to pay £11.39 extra due to £3.39 Customs VAT and £8 Handling Charge.

Anyway sent DDM an email and they have replied stating it was thier fault and will give me a $20 discount on my next order, sweet, yes i have to spend to get the $20 but i've been thinking of a few bits lately so it gave me the push i needed.

= $77.97 which is just over £51 for the lot.
I'll have too pay Custom Charges again but thats prob around £14, so i think its a bargain.

That is not at all surprising. I have NEVER had a bad experience with DDM and have bought a crap load of stuff some have had issues and they have always replaced the item or refunded. They are one suplier that I can honestly say will give you 100% all the time.:cup-1:

+1 Bigger the Bettter....never heard a bad word about DDM and Ive had all good experances....
