I'm looking for a new engine. I'm over the 2 bolt heads.


These are my options:


CY 27.2


Zenoah 28.5


I should probably mention that I'm a basher, and the only track I'll see, if at all is the local BMX track.


Also, I'm using 27/33 gears.


Any input?

If you have the extra cash go with the Zenoah.


When I was asking which motor to go with over at HBF the concensous was Zenoah was a better motor all around. I picked up a G270 for the 5b and it has been a great motor. Haven't had any problems with. Had to go check when I got the motor. It was back in late Feb and it's still running stong.

I run the 4 bolt Zens in my two racers. Very reliable and very friendly to mod. The new


G290 is a nice power house with a good pipe.

Either one of those mills would do even better with a +1mm stroke crank in it.

If your only looking at 2 bolts heads I don't think it makes a diff what brand. Why a whole engine? You'd more HP/TQ per dollar rebuilding a used one VS. buying all new which would leave extra for other perfroamnce parts.


Ported or not? Id pick 28.5 preferrably ported.
