Lads, I spent a bit of time chatting to Gareth at MMR yesterday, he has said that he and a load of the guys that run down his end want to get upto Deeside in the future for a major bash and meet all the Deeside crew.

Could be time to get a few good tracks marked out!! ;)

maybe we need to speak to the site manager ,the coppers did ask us to a few months ago it would be a real shame to get kicked off there but as ian said it could happen any time, me and hyperpete had a cool bash spot in calderstones park we bashed for over a year there, then one day two c,s,o arsholes came running across the grass like the s,a,s and told us never to return, i think starting some kind of club would be a good idea then approching people to use land as a club would sound better.

Hope he knows its Council land and we could be booted off any time, don't want them making a long trip for nowt. ;)

from what i remember from the conversation we had with the police men is tbat a company called king sturg own or manage the land, my dad was a site manager for them in manchester so should i ask him to speak to the area manager to see if we can use the land??????

That would be a good idea about the land, the only thing is that the building next to the ground is empty and if somebody starts to rent it they might not like it. And if we do get some land would we have to pay rent?? I don't mind paying £1 a week subs.

ive asked him to speak to them plus hes guna see his new company to see of they have any plots we could use around the greater manchester area

sounds good charlie, we should really try and make something official. Keep us posted.

King sturge are just a commercial property/land agent so they may not own the land. But it worth a try.

yeah thats what my dads told me but he was quite hi up in the company before he moved to his new company so he knows quite a few of the big cheeses so we will see what happens mate ;)

we have a local r,c club in newsham park in liverpool they run electric stuff touring cars boats etc,, a part of there club is to have a safety marshal wearing a high viz bib, sounds mad but i think it makes sense ,sometimes when a good fews 5th scales are running it can get hectic to say the least and people watching should keep a safe distance.

There's a new guy on baja-forum (1275mini) who has asked us all if we fancy a trip to his bash site, its only up the road from deeside and could be a winner.
Here is some of our chat.

we share the field with a motor cross club and they have a track set up only allowed to race 6 times a year rest of time we just share with the cows the farmer let roam about some times when i get time i will post a few pictures plenty of room to set up a proper race !

This is sensible pablo, its the same in racing large scale, those who are not racing grab a hi-vis and marshall then they all change round, this is something we can adopt, I have a couple of hi-vis vests in the boot of my car. It does get mad down Deeside (if a little funny watching PaulB dodging flying baja's, Fg's and MCD's while he tries to get that ellusive pic), but we can get some basic rules drawn up.

Lets face it if we have 15 cars down at Deeside at a bash you can guarantee that half of them will be off the road being repaired, so this is no different to limiting numbers in a race or for those that would rather bash thereis plenty of room for both!

how much further than deeside is it ian?????

Its prob the same distance, instead of turning off towards the estate you would head towards the wirral, for the liverpool guys it is approx 4 mile closer.

Two Mills honda is 5-10 mins in the car from deeside. I live about 10-15 mins from it but did not realise they had a Heli club round there or a track/grassed area. Sounds like it could be worth a look.

I think the main things are:
1. Plenty of space.
2. Safety - away from the general public.
3. Local acceptance.
4. Fun but no stupidity.
5. Rent? - linked to 3. 'Acceptance'. If those in the immediate vicinity / those immediately responsible for the terrain accept whatever 'damage' is reasonably incurred by our beasts of destruction, then we're onto a winner.

We've had a few 'problems', accidental or not, that can be avoided with more organisation, like Pete taking out somebody's son - I KNOW it was an accident, and Pete is definitely the LAST of any of us who would wish that to happen, but it did.

A few ideas. Please treat positively.
Al.

yeah defo worth a look, if its a moto cross track it should have some proper jumps for pete

Sound like we have a winner, as much as i like Deeside there's always that little voice Are we making too much noise, too much damage. A motocross track or part of it would be ideal.
