Diff big gear lube?

What do you guys all use to keep the big crown gear greased on these. I have been using just automotive grease idk what kind. I did see largescalerc has the pro spec container of grease,would that work? but if possible would like to get a big container of some grease. Thanks for the help guys
 
Sprayed dry lube on mine when I serviced the diffs yesterday. On my 1/8ths I've never lubed the crown gears.

So 2 people so far haven't used any grease. Wouldn't grease slow wear down?
 
The reason I'm not using grease or oil is that if you run in a dusty environment the dust will find it's way into the diff housing and accumulate on the gear and you end up with a sticky mess.
 
I apply Honda Pro Moly 60. Use a small artists brush or a trimmed down acid brush. just a light film is applied. Most greases advertised to have moly have very little- usually 5%. This Honda brand is 60%. thats why its so costly. On full sized trucks, I use this on the king-pins. With high grade u-joints-Timken brand, I dissasemble each u-joint -clean to perfection- load the joints up with the good stuff, reinstall. last far longer than useing a lower percentage moly grease. same with the 1/5 th scale cars.
 
That's awsome dude wish I had that stuff to try. I might go stop at the auto store soon and see what they got.
 
as far as i know, you have to go to a Honda motorcycle shop to buy this grease.- the auto shops will have Stay-Lube- assorted brands- usually these will have 2 to 5% Moly.- A grease with Graphite is another type to consider also.- Thing is about the Honda Pro-Moly 60- its super tacky- stays where you put it- hands and fingers included! Very hard to wash off. This high % moly grease cannot be used where it has plastic rubbing surfaces- it will grind it up. The open gears- it is ok to use it.
 
glad i could help. ask if they have a electric relay for the blower motor on a 98% efficent Lennox natural gas furnace- just kidding!! The Lennox Dealer only wanted $111.00 per hour after hours- was gone for a few days- came back @ 4 pm friday night- no blower motor engagement- 5 relays- located the bad one- filed the points- spray electronic cleaner- applied a type of super high dollar nano particle silver in a high di-electric grease- intended for assembling high end stereo power-preamps- it works! This will get me tru the weekend-- its 24 degrees- monday, time to find a new realy and solder in- where theres a will theres a way- beats freezing my butt over the weekend!! Alfred to the rescue!!!!!! LOL!!
