like to step up drive line toughness with 7075 diff cases..

i noticed the stock cases , the bearing seats are kinda light, some of the outer races will spin, obvious melt down,

adding a set screw, esp. on the center inputs where i noticed it, would control it, and extend its life span, but distortion could botch the gearset over time.

on the 7075 is race grip tight /controlled or is it an issue?

All the 7075RC parts fit really snug. Great parts.

The aluminum also will aid in heat dissipation.

That's right, Plus you can take out the diff without removing the housing from the car, just take off the cover and remove the diff. When the cover is replaced it locks down on the output bearings. Shims are provided to set the gear backlash too. This will provide smoother gear mesh and longer gear life.

Note: The housings are not normally set up for stock bumpers, there is no "notch" for them. Aftermarket bumpers are the norm. If you want to use stock bumpers I will modify the housings at no extra charge but if you ever upgrade to aftermarket bumpers you will have a big hole in you housings letting a lot of dirt in. ( could be plugged)

thanks guys, let sort the bumper thing maybe mod the bumper (they are quite small) easy to drop and find an option..

since the topic is rolling a rerun of lube. pack with grease, close and go! or is can gear oil pool in the case and not make a leaky mess? some i know are sealed and behave so ...not really seeing this in this application.

. They are only for the X-series cars.

On the MT I have broken 1 front and 3 rear, all I believe, due to flex of the chassis end. Since beefing up both ends with alum braces fabed from alum., have not broken another.

My other MT, run as a buggy, has Redcat alum diffs, which are stronger but bearing bore clearances need attention same as the plastic ones. Chassis braces on this one also. Most of the stock suspension stuff and some of their alloy upgrades need help IMO. More so on the XT line.

Sure would be nice to have some options for us mt and dr guys....some parts from you would be great

Here's an example from one of my MT's, rear diff. On this one, if you look real close, there is a crack running from the front bearing bore down to the rear. Crack also runs under where front bore boss meets the main body. After this one I actually made a reinforcement cage for the front bearing then still blew out the output bores. This is a weak area on MT's IMHO. Chassis flex seems to worsen the situation. On the XT's, it is much worse, well lets just say you have put the fix on them!!! And by the way, Ol Fart, thanks so much for your your efforts on Redcat improvement. We are indebted.

swing weight on the tires! shocked load thru the drive line definitely popping the box!

what about diff cups /dog bones any repeated failure there?

I would love to see a 7075RC diff case for the rest of the cats. The MT, TT, DR, and Rally share the same case.

I'll put them on the list. right now I am working on Chassis for the Losi and an improved X series for the gas cars, And my Losi sized redcat conversion for gas and electric.
