Why aluminum?? The ones we have already are steel.

Aluminum would not last 20 sec, hardened tool steel its what you want

+1 on that. 4130 hardened steel would be about as tough as it gets but nobody makes that.

sorry, not clear on what i was asking. I am talking about the internal plastic diff.

yep! mine blew out the entire end and would like something tougher if i can find it.

I would have to say that there is no upgrade for this part... What you did to it is probably a rare 1 in 1000 accident lol. I never had seen any issues with the diff shells in over 2 years on this forum.

ok, thanks guys. i've been racing 1/8 for about 10 years and never seen this before either but thought maybe the extra size and power of the 1/5 might cause problems. guess i'll just replace it and cross my fingers!!
