hey guys just wondering if anyone can help i am in the process of cleaning my mt up for season and just wanted to put new oil in the front and rear diff and didnt know which kinda to run or where to get it. and how hard it was to split the case thanks for all the great advice
 
It's just like any good 1/8 scale...external plastic case comes apart like in the manual...then you have the diff case itself...4 phillips screws to remove the diff crown gear/ cup and you've opened the diff...


Remove all planetary gears, etc...clean grease off all parts...re-add bottom gears...fill with silicon diff fluid...1/2 way...add rest gears...fill rest with fluid...to top of top planetary; too much will lock them in a bad way...test b4 re-install.


I use 30-50K front and rear for a limited slip (it's not locked...), but If you race some you might wanna go lighter...I have run 30K front 20K rear...depends on how you run...some will say 10K or 7K...


some of the sponsors like on the left should carry an array of silicon diff fluid...If not I know Daves motors does...

mine cam with a red substance, redCat something,it was thick..lol


if i was to gestAmatic (estimated guess) it be around,


1200/1400? weight (sticking to outer edges) not to good on the spin.but i run hard so i will see after 3 months of hard running....


I myself ad a lube that is made for all the parts and have been for over 5 years


in any scale and it's black and 1000 weight and does a fine job...


I sure would like to know the specs on the red stuff.


I see more of RedCat in the future :)

i there a problem with putting alot thicker in the rear to make it kinda like a limited slip or would i be better to run the same all the way around i just drive it around no real racing and take it to the sand dunes when we go
 
any brand better than another i have mainly found Team Associated and Losi didnt know if one was ran more buy you guys or not thanks for the help with this issue i had
