diff/killer bee question

I am rebulding the diff because i want to instal some different bearings and i was checking the fluid level, I ran into a snag because i cant seem to get the pins out( the ones that hold the gears on the outdrive cups. And I installed a killer bee switch and when i turn on the truck it lights up green and then goes red after a few seconds and I push the ch 3 button and after ht its good to go, is this normal?
 
the diff has some set screws in the middle did you get them out?
as for the kill switch thats about right

On your radio go to the Reverse menu and change the setting on the Aux channel. Then see if it goes straight to solid green without having to press the ch 3 button.
