Just fill it up with JB Weld.
dude, CLUBIN!! quit playin.... in my opinion, jb weld might be too much, but then again, clubin is known to be slighty "extreme". before you lock the stock diff, keep in mind that this will put plenty of strain on it and it could and with time "will" fail.. i would try to use silly putty, thats right, putty. it stays kinda rubbery to give a little play so you don't "spin" drive shafts or crack drive hubs.. and it can always be cleaned out. i used it in my 5b diff, but did not like it. remember, if one wheel spins, you are at least going to "track" straight. if both wheels are spinning you better have good throttle control or it will feel like your driving a caddilac in the snow

lol, "extreme" maybe? I have lots of spare parts, I have to mail order is the only way I get them, so I have a couple of everything I need.

There is definetly a reason there is a diff in the rear and it is not locked.

Handling will be absolutely compromised, by locking it up. Dog bones and drive cups wouldn't last one jump. In a pinch while waiting for parts I would do it, but other than that I would leave it stock.

I don't own a Firehamer but I own a FG and I am thinking they are a lot alike, what I do is I pull one axle out and full the diff up with 100,000wt it is a little bit of a bugger to get in there but well worth it. I refil mine every gallon or so. It does get out around the axles, but my FG is such a mess the extra lube doesn't hurt anything.

I don't know if the fg 4 plate diff fits in the FH without a bunch of other bits, i got one in my fg and it's too cool...to buy one and get it too fit will probably cost as much as a new FH though so it's kinda pricey....

Dawg..as to the firehammer..if you still use the stock rear diff...You can use a heavy wheel bearing grease..like for real cars & trucks..If you stay with the stock rear diff for a while get a stainless steel diff cover....I went to a better rear diff for my firehammer
I got a FG8484 and SS cover..you can use the firehammer rear diff set in side for the internals...Otherwise you have to change all to Fg internal parts Plus Fg inner drive cups
That heavy duty wheel bearing grease will be enough to spin both real wheels...
That's what I am using at the moment...AKASlawhammer
PS..fill it up full of grease..pack it in there...

Fill it up with the stickiest thickest grease you can find. I mean FULL.
All the FG diffs will work. You could buy a adjustable FG diff.

If you are using a standard stock DTX dif case, upgrade it ASAP to a alloy FG or alloy DTX dif right away. The stock one will fail taking out your internal gears.

Liquid or oil will not work in the stock plastic diff.

steel pinion and spur gears

Im looking to upgrade my diff to a posi. Can cum ne tell me where i can find one. This one wheel wonder is no fun.

not to get off track but does anybody know were i can get steel gears(19-48) for firehammer mt:helpsmilie:

The 48T can be any FG type with an alloy carrier. The 19T due to the gear plate being just a bit different then FG I always was told needs to be a different size then the FG's.

I used a 19T FG on road Pinion on my FH buggy and found it works just right. I cannot remember the FG number that it is.

Most people have bought there FH steel gear parts here: http://www.rc-car-online.de/htstarteng.htm

You could just buy the pinion here: http://www.innovativehobby.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1015
