Differential Dissassembly Help!

How do I take off the two pinion gears inside the differential pointed below with my attach pix? Do I use pliers to grab it and take it out? I know it rides on a piece of bar? Please help me people.... and what the heck is the small set screw is for again?

Yes take thin needle nose pliers to remove side gear. Sometimes can be tough to grab. Maybe try smacking the diff housing against the bench to have it drop out...make sense?

The set screw is there to allow the pin to slide out.

Ok, I've managed to completely take apart the differential and will be ordering the out drive cup soon. Thanks for your help people!
