hi,i own a 2wd marder and it appears that I have too much play in the diff, also it drives but cant seem to lay down the power.
has anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Hi Mike, welcome to LSF.
Please click on UserCP and enter your location - nobody knows if you live in UK, Holland, South Africa or Australia!

1. Check the wheels are correctly mounted and are in good condition.
2. Check the wheel bearings are not 'exhausted' - can easily see once the wheels are removed.
3. Check the engine mount screws have not worked loose.
4. Check the differential mount bolts are tight.
TRY AGAIN.
If still loose, then it may be that the differential is indeed worn.

its already had new bearings, new mounts, bolts and been threadlocked.
going to try some thick fg diff grease this week but I think it is totally shot, luckily I won a new diff on ebay the other day so I will try that out when it arrives.

fitted the new diff today.now have the tiniest bit of play which is now only between the drive shafts and the cuts made in the cup things (cant remember its proper name).now im still left with the problem of the bevel gears in the diff not having enough resistance in corners ( wheel lifts and spins freely but wont attempt to drive the wheel still in contact with the ground ) ,would adding fg 300.000 wt diff grease sort this problem and maybe attempt to drive the both wheels abit more than it does at the minute?
