Cleon:
Length: 720mm
Wheelbase: 535mm
Width: 474mm
Height: 275mm

I pulled those measurements off of the FG and Elcon site. As for width is does include the width of the tires and the rear tires on the FG are huge. The actual arms are much shorter on both front and rear on the FG in comparison to the Elcon.

Oh and I will send you a reply to the PM as soon as I am done typing it up.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi there

thanks Alex

does that mean that the fg baja is narrower and shorter than the Leoppard ??

can you weigh the cleon for me so I can compare it to my Leoppard.

cheers

I will weigh everything I have right now and post up some numbers for others to see. :) I will get it posted up later tonight.

Weights below. Each car is complete ready to run other than the Elcon Cleon. I used a different engine in there to just test weight so everything is there to the very last screw except the engine isn't bolted down because I am waiting for a different one. Each car includes battery, receiver and everything else a fully ready to run car would have.

FG Leopard Race #1:
21lbs 15.3oz (9kg 960g)

Full leopard race with added front disk brakes, 1 steering + 2 throttle/brake servos, carbon fiber servo tray, outerwears covers, sway bars on rear and pivot ball on front, ported 23cc Zen motor and alloy motor mounts.

FG Leopard Race #2:
20lbs 12.7oz (9kg 430g)

Full leopard race with can exhaust, front disk brakes, 1 steering + 1 throttle/brake servo, outerwears covers, sway bar on rear, stock 26cc Zen motor and alloy motor mounts.

FG Baja 2wd:
23lbs 5.6oz (10kg 590g)

Full FG Baja 2wd with ddm dominator exhaust, tuning disk brakes on front and rear, 1 steering + 2 throttle/brake servos, custom alloy servo tray and tray mounts, outerwears covers, rear wheelie bar, FG 2 speed with alloy pinion gears and alloy gear plate, alloy rear wishbone, fg alloy adjustable shocks, stock 26cc Zen motor.

HPI Baja SS:
23lbs 2.9oz (10kg 515g)

Full HPI Baja SS with SS exhaust, 1 steerings + 1 throttle/brake servo, turtle racing front and rear shock braces, front alloy shock support, modded gear cover and gear cover mount, modded rear brakes, outerwears covers, stock CY 26cc motor with modded engine cover.

Elcon Cleon:
22lbs 0.6oz (9kg 995g)

Full Elcon Cleon, no mods, 2 steerings + 1 throttle/brake servo, outerwears covers, stock Zen 26cc motor.

I will update again once I finish everything on all of the cars if anyone will be interested.

I probably left something minor out on one or more of the cars.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank YOu

Thanks so much Alex .

Great job well done and nice specific itemised discriptions as well.

Hard to believe the Cleon is so light !!!!!!!!

Having said that my Leoppard is at 16.5 lbs no alloy a bit of carbon and good diet.

Cleon is clearly the top contender.

How do you think will the elcon drive compared to the Leoppard.??

Pls keep us posted Alex

i have not driven my car yet but i have had a few laps on the local track with to different FG Leopard.
they are great cars that driv very nicely.
but i think the Cleon will out run it plain an simpel.

the Cleon is bulit of supprisingly few parts. it´s parts are light end strong.
the germnoetry og the fornt an raer suspention is absolutly the best i have seen on any Large Scale off road car.

i hope i could test my car before X-mas.
right now i am witing for one little part thats was missing when i bought the car. there were a couple of parts thats was missing. and i gor a package from Elcon today but one little part was still missing.

the only thing i need now is a steering servo and a throtel/break servo.
eksept from that litle stering arm that i wait to get from Elcon.

if i sholug give yu any advise on buying a new cae i would sett teh mony on a Elcon Cleon. but a FG leopard is a great car too en it´s a lot cheaper.

good luck on the choice.

Hi there

great ,

its a bit nicer but Leoppard is half the price is it worth it ??

Not sure

want to see the durability of the Elcon and how it will keep up with my Leoppard.

I would say just wait it out. There are a few of us now on here with the Elcon Cleon so we will be able to pitch in more information as we get a chance to actually finish them and run them.

i hpoe to test run the cars next sonn. this weekend is not possible beu i hope next weekend.

The weak spot has been the rer suspension and most likely the lower A-arms.
but Elcon are working on a new rear suspention. as far as i now it was testet at an indoor race this weekend.
Elcon have said something about a release inn the middle or end of december.

i think the Elcon is worth every penny.

but if you don´t want to spend the money a FG leopard is a good substitute.
the leopard is a fun car to drive and it works very well right out of the boks. som små tweeeks and you have a winning maskin.
