NiCad rechargeable batteries have a known “Memory Effect”.
This basically means if the batteries are partially charged numerous times then the batteries ability to store maximum capacity will gradually be reduced.
Therefore with NiCad rechargeable batteries it would be better to recharge them once they have been discharged to ensure the battery maintains its best capable performance
The solution is move over to the NiMH batteries, which have no memory effect. This means they can be charged at any point whether they are sufficiently discharged or not without affecting the performance or maximum capacity. No more waiting around for the batteries to discharge. NiMH batteries also have a larger storage capacity compared to NiCad batteries & therefore last even longer!:w00t:
if you have NiCad mike you need a decent charger that will cycle your batteries ...the new generation chargers do the lot including Li-Po:)

nimh also has a memory. its not nerarly as bad as nicd cells, however its still there and cells should be discharged. the best way to discharge a pack is on a charger with a discharge function. another way is to use automotive tail light bulbs, or just leave the radio on till it shuts off.

you might want to disconect the servo's though if your discharging your rx battery, if you have a failsafe and your tx is not on youll fry the servo's.
