do I need a gasket?

Can anyone answer me this question. I decided to use my RedCat Polished Aluminum tuned Pipe on my MT V4 coz' the wife said I can't buy a jetpro right now. So I did my break-in and when i pulled out the stock pipe, the gasket ripped into small pieces. I was hoping to use that gasket. then when I opened the bag of the tuned pipe I didn't see any gasket. Is RedCat telling me I don't need one? I'd like to bash tomorrow but I'll chill and buy a gasket if I need one. I've been around dirtbikes and ATVs' all my life and each time I work on the exhaust pipe and bought an aftermarket pipe, there was always a gasket provided with the pipe. I've never heard or seen any type of motor without an exhaust gasket. Is this a packaging error or I don't need one?

You need one. But you can use some high temp RTV. If you have an auto parts store close by, they should carry it. Just put a light layer on the header, let it skin and install it. Also, make sure you clean the header and the exhaust port before using RTV or installing a new gasket. Some alcohol on a rag will work.

Got it Deluge. Thanks, dude! I knew I need a gasket, just hope the next guy who buys a tuned pipe from RedCat have enough sense to question why the tuned pipe don't have a gasket. I know an engine exhaust pipe without a gasket is a BIG NO NO!
